Conduit

Documentation

Welcome to the Conduit documentation. Conduit is a cross-platform remote connection manager that unifies SSH terminals, RDP desktops, VNC sessions, and web-based tools into a single tabbed workspace. Every connection is protected by an encrypted vault that stores credentials with AES-256 encryption, and a built-in AI assistant can answer questions, run commands, and automate workflows across your sessions.

These docs cover everything from installing Conduit and creating your first connection to advanced topics like MCP server integration, CLI agent configuration, and team vault sharing. Use the sidebar to navigate by section, or start with the quick guide below.

Key capabilities

  • Multi-protocol connections — SSH, RDP, VNC, and web sessions in a unified tabbed interface with split-view panes and session persistence.
  • Encrypted vault — Credentials, SSH keys, and connection details are encrypted at rest with AES-256 and unlocked by a single master password.
  • Built-in AI — An AI assistant with access to your active sessions can explain errors, draft commands, and walk through troubleshooting steps.
  • MCP server — Expose Conduit's connection and credential tools to external AI agents such as Claude Code and Codex, using your own provider API key.
  • Organization — Folders, favorites, tags, and a built-in markdown document editor keep your workspace organized.

Quick start

  1. Download — Grab the latest release from the download page for macOS, Windows, or Linux.
  2. Create a vault — On first launch, set a master password that encrypts all stored credentials.
  3. Add a connection — Click the + button or press Cmd/Ctrl+E to add an SSH, RDP, VNC, or web entry.
  4. Connect — Double-click an entry to open a session. Sessions open in tabs so you can work across multiple servers at once.
